Technical Ship Management

Technical ship management is Coastal Shipping core business. All offices and vessels within the group adhere to the same operating procedures and standards. Key staff move between the operating offices for career development and to ensure a common company culture.

Management review meetings and KPI targets are regularly monitored as the company looks to continue improving all procedures and operations. Training and auditing staff to manage new technologies and prepare for the adoption of new legislation is essential in an increasingly complex operating environment.

Coastal Shipping provides full technical management to clients worldwide. The contracted terms are based on the BIMCO Shipman agreement. They may include all or some of the following services; technical supervision, crew management, condition, safety, and loadline surveys, management reports, audits and inspection reports, budgetary and financial control, competitive procurement, and drydock planning and supervision.

Crew Management & Training

Crew management and training are of vital importance to the safe and successful operation of our managed vessels. It is through meticulous recruitment, training, and continual appraisal that we develop highly skilled seafarers. Seafarer’s wellbeing and remuneration are carefully considered to continue our high retention rates of senior officers.

The shore based management team provides full support to the crew in order to ensure they are well equipped to fulfil their defined responsibilities and duties. Through both internal and external training courses and briefings, our seafarers skills and knowledge are continuously developed and updated to reflect changing maritime legislation.

Our appraisal and mentoring of seafarers together with training courses at our training centres in Europe and Asia ensures proficient competency for all vessel types and trades.

We have always emphasised the importance of education and training. We sponsor cadets from the Europe and Asia. Our company has approved training schemes in place for cadets.
